There’s no question we live in a noisy world. Everywhere you look, there’s people texting and talking on their cell phones or feverishly typing away on a laptop. As much as we all love technology, wouldn’t it be nice to just unplug and enjoy nature?
That’s the mindset behind our “Wellness Walks.” Studies show there are health benefits to quiet time. And, when you combine it with a hike, it’s even better.
According to a study published in the journal Brain Structure and Function, spending at least 2 hours in silence could create new cells in the hippocampus region – an area of the brain linked to our ability to learn, remember things and even our emotions.
Our Wellness Walks are an ideal activity that can be used several ways. Corporate groups can use it to kick off their morning meeting, while others may prefer the middle of the day to rejuvenate the staff – or at the end of the day, to help process a long day of meetings. Our hikes are easy and can be customized to fit your needs. They typically take place in areas that are peaceful and off-the-beaten path. Hikes can include facilitation to support your meeting’s agenda.
Our Wellness Walks take place in several areas. Some of the more popular spots are: Neighborhoods of Balboa Park, Downtown with a Difference, La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Waterfront Walk, Encinitas and Coronado.
Optional: Time permitting, we can also kick off or end this experience with a Yoga (Healing & Stretching) session. This is a perfect activity that will set the tone for your busy day ahead.
